1. Overview
JOJ Online Judge is an educational problem browsing and progress tracking service for algorithm practice. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the service.
By using the service or signing in with Google, you acknowledge that your information will be handled as described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
Account information: when you choose to sign in with Google, we may receive your Google account identifier, name, email address, and profile picture.
Service activity: we may store problem progress, bookmarked problems, submitted solution records, timestamps, and related settings needed to provide user-facing features.
Technical information: we may process cookies, session identifiers, IP address, browser information, device information, logs, and performance data for security, diagnostics, and service operation.
User-provided content: if the service allows you to submit source code, notes, or similar content, that content may be stored and associated with your account.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to authenticate users, maintain sessions, synchronize progress and bookmarks, display problem-related features, operate and secure the service, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and improve reliability and performance.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use Google user data for advertising.
4. Google User Data
Google Sign-In is used to authenticate users and connect service data to the correct account. The service requests only the Google account information needed for sign-in and profile display.
Google user data is used only for authentication, account identification, profile display, and user-requested features such as progress and bookmark synchronization.
We do not transfer Google user data except as necessary to provide or improve the service, comply with law, protect users and the service, or with your consent.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies and similar browser storage to keep users signed in, remember access state, maintain security, and store basic interface preferences such as theme settings.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling cookies may prevent authentication and core service features from working correctly.
6. Service Providers
We may use trusted service providers to host, store, authenticate, analyze, and operate the service. These providers may include Supabase for authentication and database services, Vercel for hosting, analytics, and performance monitoring, and Google for Google Sign-In.
Service providers process information only as needed to provide their services to us and are subject to their own security and privacy commitments.
7. Data Retention
We retain account and service activity information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and enforce agreements.
If you request account deletion, we will delete or de-identify personal information unless retention is required for legal, security, backup, or legitimate operational reasons.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You may sign out of the service at any time. You may also revoke the service's access to your Google account through your Google Account settings.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or object to certain processing of your personal information. We will respond to applicable requests as required by law.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure.
No internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so users should protect their own account credentials and devices.
10. International Transfers
The service and its providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence. When information is transferred internationally, we take steps designed to protect it according to this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
11. Children's Privacy
The service is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to consent to online services. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
